Detailed tour program

Day 1

  • 5.00 pm: Pick up at the Arrivals hall of Bari Airport.
  • Afternoon arrival at Masseria Marzalossa.
  • Welcome drink with gift from the Masseria and presentation of the tour.
  • Dinner.
  • Overnight.

Day 2

  • Breakfast at the Masseria.
  • Healthy walking among centuries-old olive trees with guide.
  • Ostuni guided tour.
  • Cooking lesson: introduction of the seasonal products, nutritious and dietary properties of Mediterranean cooking, preparation of starters, main and second courses based on the seasonal products (3 hours lesson).
  • Dinner.
  • Overnight.

Day 3

  • Breakfast at the Masseria.
  • Visit of the artichoke cultivations in Polignano and Mola di Bari. Polignano and Alberobello, the capital of Trulli, guided tour. Free time.
  • Cooking lesson: preparation of artichoke-based starters. Dishes include: artichokes “au gratin”, boiled, in olive-oil, stuffed, fried with batter, grilled, in “giudia” style, artichoke pies, artichokes “vellutata” (3 hours lesson).
  • Dinner.
  • Overnight.

Day 4

  • Breakfast at the Masseria.
  • Healthy walking or yoga lesson with teacher.
  • Lecce guided tour and free time in the so called "Florence of the South".
  • Cooking lesson: preparation of bread, “focaccia” (salted bun), home-made pasta: “tagliatelle” pasta with artichokes and parsley, red “cavatelli” pasta (kneaded with “primitivo” red wine) with “ricotta” cheese, artichokes and other seasonal vegetables. Choice of suitable wines (3 hours lesson).
  • Dinner.
  • Overnight.

Day 5

  • Breakfast at the Masseria.
  • Morning stroll through Fasano open-air market or free time at the hotel.
  • Visit of Colavecchio wine cellar in Putignano and tasting lesson with sommelier (2 hours).
  • Martina Franca guided tour and free time.
  • Dinner.
  • Hotel return for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6

  • Breakfast at the Masseria.
  • Healthy walking.
  • Cooking lesson: preparation of traditional Apulian recipes with meat, fish and seasonal vegetables (3 hours lesson).
  • Visit of an oil mill and lesson about extra-virgin oil, its properties, its use in cooking and in particular in the Mediterranean cuisine (2 hours lesson).
  • Dinner.
  • Overnight.

Day 7

  • Breakfast at the Masseria.
  • Grottaglie guided tour, city known for its colourful ceramics; visit of the ancient artisan workshops and free time.
  • Cooking lesson: Preparation of a dessert and traditional “rosoli” (liqueurs) of Apulia (3 hours lesson).
  • Farewell dinner with buffet of starters, main course, second course, side vegetables, fruit, dessert, champagne.
  • Masseria Marzalossa gift.
  • Overnight.

Day 8

  • Breakfast at the Masseria.
  • Greetings and transfer to the airport.

Booking conditions

Minimum of 8 participants.

The price refers to the total cost per person, including VAT.

At the time of booking only 25% of the amount will be required as deposit.

The balance payment must be made within 90 days before departure, subject to confirmation of the minimum number of participants in the tour.

If the minimum number is not confirmed, Discovery Puglia will move the booking to the next tour available at no extra charge or provide a refund of the deposit.

Discovery Puglia has no responsibility for any cancellation penalties due to non-refundable airfares or additional services booked by the customers.
